Following on from our successful festival in October earlier this year, The Dark Hedges International Film Festival is hosting a short film competition for UK and Irish filmmakers just in time for Christmas!
We’re asking filmmakers to create a short Christmas themed horror short film, no longer than 5 minutes in length that features the theme of Christmas prominently within its narrative.
Key Points
- Short must be under 5 minutes in length
- Christmas must feature within the short’s narrative
- Submitted by Friday 18 December
Submissions must be submitted via FilmFreeway, entries cost £3 (Discounts available for FilmFreeway Gold members) and all submissions must be received via Friday 18 December.
Only entries from filmmakers based in the UK or Ireland will be deemed eligible entrants for this competition.
All submissions will be screened for free on our festival’s digital player from Monday 21 December until Friday 25 December.
The festival’s team will select a winner, which we’ll announce on Thursday 24 December (7 pm) and the winning short will receive a trophy and £100 gift voucher for WEX (https://www.wexphotovideo.com).
Trophy and gift vouchers will be sent by recorded delivery to the winning filmmaker in early 2021
