Join us at the Movie House Cinema’s City Side site in Belfast for the Irish premiere of Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala’s atmospheric horror movie, The Lodge.
After the sudden death of their beloved mother, heartbroken siblings Aidan and Mia struggle to embrace their father’s new fiancé- the softly spoken and somewhat mysterious Grace (Riley Keough).
Forced to spend the holidays together at their isolated family lodge, the kids begrudgingly find themselves alone with their future step-mother when their father is forced to head back to work for a few days.
As the weather outside worsens and the group find themselves increasingly isolated, tensions inside the cabin show little signs of thawing as dark secrets from Grace’s past are slowly revealed.
The Lodge is beautifully shot by cinematographer Thimios Bakatakis (The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer) and features a fantastic performance by Riley Keough as a fragile woman haunted by her past.
This atmospheric horror movie screened at both the Sundance and London Film Festival in 2019 and will surely appeal to horror fans who enjoyed Ari Aster’s Hereditary.
